Grimes highly anticipated new album "Art Angels" has finally seen the light of day and can now be streamed in full.

The album has been written and produced by Grimes the only guest appearances being Janelle Monae and Aristophanes.

I'll be honest with you here. You know that I am a big fan of great popmusic and I'm not turning away when it comes to experimental or artsy fartsy stuff. But "Art Angels" is not giving me an ear boner. It just doesn't stick. And what help is the much propagated "weirdness" in Grimes' music when it's just, well, weird and not bringing the song further? There's something I need to learn about the Grimes hype and I'll find out what. I'll keep you updated on reviews here (see below) as I need to know if I have totally lost my mind or not. Any help in the comment section is highly appreciated. What's so special about Grimes? What is her true contribution to modern pop music?

"But whatever feelings might be driving this music, Art Angels is an album that absolutely bursts with ideas"

8 % Stereogum
"By embracing the pop orthodoxy, you might argue that Boucher has sacrificed some of what made her seem so alien when 4AD debut 'Visions' emerged from the ether back in 2012, but rest assured: she's still laughing and not being normal, only this time, it's all the way to the bank."

8 % NME
"It’s slick and gritty, fun and funny, and horrifying and grotesque all at once. It will also make you shake your ass like nothing else."

9 % AV Club
"Art Angels is a major victory for deep weird."
